While driving my motor bike along the beautiful road leading from Antequera to Tagbilaran, I passed a cockfighting arena. Never having seen cockfighting before, I had to stop and take a peek.
Being a white tourist, they let me in for free. Seeing that the arena was packed with people, I headed to the balcony to try to find a seat. A security guard saw me and ushered me to another area. I was going to sit with the rest of the people, but one of the guys in the glass pit pointed me to some unoccupied seats in the front (beginning of video).
Two things to notice in the video:
1) The cocks each have one blade attached to their ankles. This blade often results in sudden death.
2) All the fights go on until one of the cocks dies. I don’t really understand why. You’ll see the guy force them to keep fighting in the video.
